Hearing Protection for Work and Leisure

Construction site, workshop, mowing the lawn or splitting wood: if you regularly work with loud equipment, you need hearing protection that sits securely and stays comfortable for hours. SCHALLWERK offers earmuffs and earplugs for this.

Work+ is our earmuff hearing protection for work and leisure. It reaches an SNR of 33 dB to EN 352-1:2020, has a stepwise adjustable headband, padded arms and folds up. It is available in several colours and editions.

Strong+ are everyday earplugs with an SNR of 23 dB to EN 352-2:2020. They are an alternative when you also wear a helmet, glasses or a hat and earmuffs would get in the way.

Please note: which hearing protection is required at your workplace depends on your company's risk assessment. The information on this page does not replace advice from your occupational safety specialist.

Tip for long sessions: clean the cushions regularly and put Work+ on so that the cups fully enclose the ears. Hair, glasses arms or beards between cushion and skin reduce the attenuation.

Everyday choice: for dust, heat and sweat, earmuffs with wipeable cushions are practical. For tasks with frequent changes between loud and quiet, such as in the garden or the workshop, foldable earmuffs like Work+ are quicker to hand than earplugs. Check before each use that cushions and headband are undamaged. If you need hearing protection for several people in the household or business, choose earmuffs with an adjustable headband, as they adapt to different head shapes. Replace worn cushions in time, because hard or cracked cushions reduce the attenuation.

      Frequently asked questions

Which hearing protection suits lawn mowers and DIY?

Work+ with SNR 33 dB is designed for loud equipment. For lighter tasks, Strong+ earplugs are enough.

Can I wear Work+ with glasses?

Yes, but glasses arms can slightly reduce the attenuation. Thin arms work best.

What does SNR 33 dB mean?

The SNR is the single number rating for sound attenuation to EN 352. The higher, the stronger the calculated attenuation.

      Does Work+ fold up?

Yes, Work+ folds up and is therefore easy to transport.
